ASSESSMENT OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF INNOVATION STRATEGIES OF DAIRY PRODUCTION ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The article focuses on the evaluation of innovation strategies employed by dairy enterprises. It has been established that many domestic dairy enterprises exhibit a low level of innovation activity, which significantly limits their ability to compete effectively in both domestic and foreign markets, reduces production productivity, and renders deep technological modernization impossible. It has been proven that, despite the presence of individual positive examples of implementing the latest technologies at specific enterprises, these efforts are fragmented in nature and do not form a coherent innovation trajectory for the industry. The lack of systematic approaches to modernization, weak coordination between participants in the agri-food chain, limited state support, and an insufficient level of institutional interaction significantly narrow the opportunities for sustainable and innovative development. It was determined that high indicators are achieved by enterprises that focus on the strategic, long-term implementation of innovations, combined with investments aimed at technical modernization, automation, and digitalization of production processes, as well as the development of new competitive product types. However, the implementation of such strategies is complicated by the lack of a comprehensive innovation environment, particularly due to weak interaction between scientific institutions, industrial enterprises, and government bodies, as well as the underdeveloped technology transfer infrastructure. It is substantiated that to ensure the effective implementation of innovation strategies in the dairy industry, a systematic, comprehensive approach is necessary, which should include the modernization of the material and technical base, active involvement in the innovation process, the formation of a favorable investment climate, and the development of regulatory and institutional mechanisms to support innovations. Thus, increasing the effectiveness of innovation strategies in the industry is possible only under the condition of a comprehensive approach that combines modernization of the production base, active participation in technological development, proper investment support, and a favorable institutional environment. Only under such conditions can we expect a gradual transition of the dairy industry to sustainable and competitive development based on innovation.
