STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF THE ACTIVITIES OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES OF UKRAINE UNDER CONTEMPORARY RISKS

Abstract

The article examines the theoretical and practical foundations of the strategic management of Ukrainian agricultural enterprises under contemporary risks. It identifies the role of strategic management in the operation of agricultural enterprises, analyzes the current state of agricultural enterprises in Ukraine, determines the key contemporary risks affecting the functioning of agribusiness entities, and proposes a strategic management model aimed at enhancing the adaptability, resilience, and long-term sustainable development of Ukrainian agricultural enterprises. The study establishes that the effectiveness of strategic management largely depends on a systematic analysis of the external environment, timely identification of risk factors, and strategic diagnostics, the results of which provide the information and analytical basis for informed managerial decision-making. It is determined that the performance of agricultural enterprises is primarily influenced by military, climatic, market, technological, institutional, logistical, and social risks. The research substantiates that the conceptual foundation of the modern strategic management system for agricultural enterprises should be based on the principles of strategic resilience, which involve continuous monitoring of the risk environment, the development of the enterprise’s dynamic capabilities, timely adjustment of strategic priorities, and effective adaptation to changing operating conditions. At the same time, the implementation of strategic decisions should be aligned with the principles of sustainable development and Ukraine’s European integration agenda, ensuring a balanced integration of economic, environmental, and social priorities as a prerequisite for the post-war recovery of the agricultural sector, strengthening its competitiveness, and ensuring the country’s long-term food security. It is substantiated that an effective strategic management system creates the prerequisites for the long-term development of agricultural enterprises, their successful integration into the European economic area, and the implementation of sustainable development principles, which constitute key drivers of the post-war modernization of Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
