Abstract

The article explores the theoretical and methodological features of strategy formation for the sustainable development of enterprises through the lens of technological innovation and competitive advantage. In a highly dynamic economic environment characterized by digitalization and evolving consumer behavior, the study substantiates that long-term market leadership is no longer possible using traditional commercial tools alone. The author revisits M. Porter’s theory of competitive advantage, emphasizing its core properties: relativity, dynamism, adaptability, sustainability, and efficiency. The research highlights the dual nature of competitive advantages as both the result of strategic management and a primary tool for further developing a firm’s strategic potential. A significant part of the study is dedicated to the empirical analysis of Ukraine’s innovation landscape from 2013 to 2023. By examining the Global Innovation Index (GII), the Bloomberg Innovation Index, and the Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI), the author identifies a profound "innovation paradox": despite maintaining a high level of human capital and talent competitiveness, Ukraine has experienced a sharp decline in the share of innovative industrial products (dropping from 2.71% in 2013 to 1.30% in recent years). The article analyzes the impact of global crises, including the pandemic and full-scale military aggression, on the technological modernization of Ukrainian enterprises. The study proposes a strategic framework for leveraging the "scale effect" and the "experience curve" to achieve cost leadership and successful product differentiation. Special attention is paid to the role of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and renewable energy technologies in transforming business processes. The findings suggest that the future of Ukraine’s economic recovery lies in transitioning from a resource-based model to an export-oriented, technology-driven business within a holistic innovation ecosystem. The implementation of the proposed approaches will enhance the international prestige and stability of the national economy in the era of techno-globalism.
